Sharon M. Fritz Has 41 Years of Experience in Chemical Dependency and Psychiatric Counseling

Fritz, Outpatient Counselor, Coordinator for Continuing Care Program, Intern Program Manager and Certified Addictions Registered Nurse for Scripps Health, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in addiction treatment.

A 41-year veteran of the healthcare profession, Sharon M. Fritz specializes in chemical dependency and psychiatric counseling. She has devoted the last 16 years to Scripps McDonald Center of Scripps Health, a rehabilitation center that is a leading proponent of the 12-step model of recovery. Functioning in a variety of capacities, she is charged primarily with counseling outpatient and inpatient groups, coordinating continuing care programs, supervising interns, and evaluating assessments. Ms. Fritz, who deals with patients in both the East and West Coasts, attributes her success to her commitment, experience, education and goal-oriented nature.

Ms. Fritz received her Master's Degree in Counseling and Psychology from the University of Cambridge. She is a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor, a Certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Registered Nurse, a Certified Addictions Registered Nurse, a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner, and a Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor through the State of Connecticut. Her professional affiliations include the San Diego chapter of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc., the California Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors, the International Nurses Society on Addictions, and the American Holistic Nurses Association. At present, Ms. Fritz serves as a diversion program committee member of the Board of Registered Nursing of the Department of Consumer Affairs of the State of California.

Away from work, Ms. Fritz supports with the San Diego Humane Society, the Zoological Society of San Diego, Walk for Recovery, and the American Diabetes Association. She is also a regular participant in the Start! Heart Walk organized by the American Heart Association. In five years, she aspires to obtain her doctorate and establish her own practice.
