Jagjit Polly Pachu celebrates 26 years as a registered cardiology technologist for Hôpital St-Boniface Hospital

WINNIPEG, MB, CANADA, September 7, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jagjit Polly Pachu, Registered Cardiology Technologist for Hôpital St-Boniface Hospital, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in cardiac care.

With 26 years of experience as a registered cardiology technologist for Hôpital St-Boniface Hospital, Jagjit Polly Pachu is responsible for monitoring patients in the stress laboratory to find causes of pain through electrocardiography and following patients' progress on treadmills to ensure cardiac blood flow. Ms. Pachu is also involved in occupational health and safety. She speaks five languages and works as a translator for various organizations. She teaches children at her temple and educates adults on cardiac health. She became involved in her profession because of the inspiration she received from her grandfather, who was interested in herbal medicine, and she attributes her success to her ability to overcome challenges and exceed her expectations.

Ms. Pachu became a registered cardiology technologist through Paddington Technical College in 1976. She was the Director and was the National President of the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT), which is affiliated with the Canadian Cardiovascular Society and Heart and Stroke Foundation. She is also the Vice President of the Immigrant Women's Association of Manitoba. She is appointed as a member of the Peer Review Committee of the Manitoba Dental Association. She was the Vice Chairperson of the License Suspension Appeal Board of the Province of Manitoba and was the President of Toastmasters club in St. Boniface.
