Sherri Sue Payne Named to Exclusive Membership Organization
As a Nurse Practitioner, Sherri Sue Payne was lauded by Apogee Physicians for "cheerfully bringing her 'A' game to work with her every night"

NEW CASTLE, PA, September 3, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sherri Sue Payne, Nurse Practitioner at Apogee Physicians, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in nursing.

Ms. Payne has 14 years of overall professional experience in the discipline of Nursing. As a Nurse Practitioner, she is responsible for direct inpatient care in a hospitalist role. With collaboration of the attending and consulting physicians, she rounds on patients, oversees admissions and manages medical issues that present while patients are hospitalized. Within 3 months of her career with Apogee Physicians, she was nominated for Hospitalist of the Month by the Program Director describing her as "the best of Apogee", "cheerfully bringing her 'A' game to work with her every night" and "the patients always benefit from her care." She was also commended in that she "consistently meets quality markers" and "for the professional relationships she has established with the medical and nursing staff."

Prior experience as a Nurse Practitioner includes providing services for a Family Planning/STI clinic and outpatient Internal Medicine practice. She previously worked as a labor and delivery RN for six years and in addition, she worked as a both a psychiatric RN and in the role of Nurse Practitioner for a geriatric and adult Behavioral Health Unit for 9 years.

In 1997, Ms. Payne earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from The Pennsylvania State University where she not only was in the Honors Program, but graduated with a 3.88 grade point average.

In 1999 she earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Kent State University with a Nurse Practitioner focus in Women's Health. Thereafter, she continued her academia and now holds a Post Masters Certificate in Family Nurse Practitioner, which she earned from George Washington University. Ms. Payne is nationally certified through American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, of which she is also a member.

A recipient of the Travis French Award for Exceptional Understanding of Childbearing Family, she is a member of AWHONN, American Nurses Association, Pennsylvania State Nurses Association, Pennsylvania State University and Kent State University Alumni Association. Additionally, she writes poems and has been one of the recipients of the Outstanding Achievement Award from the International Society of Poetry.
