Ashley Marie Wilhite Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Food Testing
Ashley M. Wilhite has been named a VIP Member for 2011-2012

NORTHBROOK, IL, November 18, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ashley Marie Wilhite, Lead Microbiology Technician at Northland Laboratories, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in food testing.

Recently promoted to lead microbiology technician at Northland Laboratories, Ms. Wilhite expertly handles the microbial sampling of chocolate, dairy products, juice, meat, nondairy products, spices and water. Her responsibilities include setting up and conducting tests, and reading, recording and validating the results. Ms. Wilhite is proud of the fact that she was able to make meaningful contributions to Northland Laboratories after just three weeks on the job. Hired as a technician 2010, she played an important role in the laboratory's receipt of its ISO 17025 accreditation.

Ms. Wilhite has always loved science, and as a high-school student, planned to become a nurse. Once she took her first college class in microbiology at Western Illinois University, she discovered a passion for the subject and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science in biology, with a concentration in microbiology, in 2008. To further her education in the field, she plans to begin studying for a master's degree in infectious diseases in 2012. She is also interested in pursuing a doctoral degree. Ms. Wilhite is a member of the American Chemical Society and a Certified Nursing Assistant.
