Julee V. Zugel Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Procurement
Julee Zugel has been named a VIP Member for 2011-2012

LE MARS, IA, November 10, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Julee V. Zugel, Director of Strategic Sourcing for Wells Enterprises Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in procurement.

Ms. Zugel has 28 years of experience in procurement and has been the director of strategic sourcing for Wells Enterprises Inc. for the past year. She brings expert knowledge of both procurement and packaging to her job. In a given day, she establishes supplier relationships, developes corporate initiatives and strategies, and manages the packaging and indirect buyers.

Wells Enterprises Inc. is a family-owned ice cream manufacturer, producing Blue Bunny, Weight Watchers, and Sweet Freedom ice creams. Prior to joining Wells Enterprises Inc., Ms. Zugel worked as purchasing clerk, procurement buyer-planner, senior packaging buyer, and procurement operations manager for Perrigo, an international pharmaceutical and health care services company.

At Perrigo, Ms. Zugel made positive changes and increased suppliers' growth for development and implementation of total cost reduction projects. As the procurement operations manager, she saved the company more than $20 million. She found the education and experience she gained while managing a great team of buyers at Perrigo to be a highlight of her career; moreover, it led to her opportunity to join Wells Enterprises. She attributes her success to her willingness to tackle new challenges, as well as her ability to conceptualize and apply the difference between working for a branded company versus a nonbranded company. In addition, she has the savvy to apply synergies where appropriate and builds excellent relationships with co-workers and other organizations.

Ms. Zugel received a bachelor's degree in business management from Western Michigan University in 1989 and is a certified Lean Six Sigma yellow belt. She is also a member of the Institute for Supply Management. In five years, Ms. Zugel intends to be working in a position that continues to challenge her, while making a major contribution to her company's success.
