Mary E. Halston Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Health Care
Ms. Halston has been selected as a VIP Member for 2011-2012
NEW YORK, NY, November 17, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mary Halston, Patient Care Director at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in health care.
Having begun her career as a nurse 26 years ago, Ms. Halston now uses her experience to serve as a patient care director at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. She manages a 32-bed geriatric unit and a staff of 40 nurses, aides and clerks, and ensures that each patient receives the best care possible. Ms. Halston was well equipped to transition from nursing to an administrative position, which she did six years ago, because of her experience in psychology, patient care, and operations management. Her particular skills include facilitation, conflict resolution, and training others.
Ms. Halston earned a Master of Science in public health from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University. She is a member of NYONE, the New York Organization of Nurse Executives. In the near future, Ms. Halston hopes to be promoted to unit director. She has been married to her husband, Bruce, for one year, and enjoys traveling and reading.
