As Director of Gyroc Africa (Pty) Ltd., as well as throughout his brilliant professional career, Mr. Bender has routinely exhibited the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be considered among the best.

Gyroc Africa (Pty) Ltd. is a company which specializes in the layout of process plant and the design of custom machinery and equipment in the coal, gold, platinum, and diamond mining industries, petrochemical, paper, sugar, and manufacturing industries. The company also specializes in the design and detailing in the fields of materials handling, process and instrumentation, piping, structural steelwork, sampling, screening, log handling, stockpiling, and gearboxes.

Mr. Bender established the company in July of 1979. He is a hands-on, self-made owner who is responsible for managing all major aspects of the business as well as overseeing the daily operations. After diligently working his way up from the bottom to the rank of Technical Services Manager with Nordberg Manufacturing Company SA (Pty) Ltd., Mike fought against the odds and decided that he would be better served running his own enterprise than settling for the security of a stable company. This calculated risk has turned out to be a wise decision as Gyroc is an incredibly successful company that has now been in business for 32 years.

During his collegiate career, Mike earned a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the Witwatersrand College for Advanced Technical Education. Never satisfied with merely being a successful businessman, he is always looking to tackle something new, so when time permits he is involved in searching for methods to utilize alternative power sources with an emphasis on eco-friendly power sources such as solar and wind, or even renewable fuels, especially for use in remote areas in Africa. Mr. Bender's success stems from his extraordinary work ethic and his propensity to forge ahead against all odds.
