Swiss Resident Inga Freise Stahle Speaks Five Different Languages
Swiss School Worker Puts Multilingual Abilities to Use

VEVEY, SWITZERLAND, November 09, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Inga Freise Stahle, an administrative assistant for an international school in Vevey, has added Portuguese and Swedish to the list of languages in which she is proficient. Her multilingual skills come into play daily in her job at the school, where she regularly interacts with students from around the globe. Her work requires her to communicate not only with students of many nationalities, but also their parents and other family members.

Inga Freise Stahle was born in Switzerland, where she learned German and French as her first languages. She later added English and was introduced to Swedish and Portuguese when she lived in Sweden and Portugal."Portuguese is one of the romance languages," Inga Freise Stahle says, "and it's one of the more difficult languages to learn."

But knowledge of another romance language, French, helped Inga Freise Stahle master the tongue and speak this second of the 25 languages passed down from common Latin. "Common Latin has lasted longer than upper-class Latin," Inga Freise Stahle explains. "It was the written form of the language, and that is what has passed down through generations." Living in Moscow later in life, Inga Freise Stahle was introduced to another difficult language to master-Russian. While not yet fluent she learned enough basic Russian to communicate while living in the country.

Inga Freise Stahle knows the importance of learning a variety of languages and strives to introduce her own children to international cultures. "Teaching my children to communicate across international boundaries is important," Inga Freise Stahle says. Her concern for helping others learn isn't limited to her own children, however. Inga Freise Stahle tutors both adults and children in foreign languages, pointing out that during her teaching, she is exposed to even more languages and cultures.

Prior to her work in education, Inga Freise Stahle worked in marketing and public relations, where she put her multilingual abilities to use conducting polls for M.I.S. in a region that spoke Swiss-German and helping translate work from Swedish to German, French, and English. Inga Freise Stahle, who has trained as a pharmacist and executive secretary, has worked as a German tutor and as a French assistant at the British International School in Moscow. Inga Freise Stahle has received diplomas from both the Athena Tourism and Executive Secretarial School and the British-Swiss Chamber of Commerce for the Intermediate Business English Examination.

Of all of her studies, Inga Freise Stahle believes traveling has provided the best education. "The best language school is living in the country," Inga Freise Stahle says, feeling humbled by the good luck that has allowed her to travel throughout her life.
