Cambridge Who's Who Names Mary-Anne Morris Professional of the Year in Business Management
Mary-Anne Morris has dedicated a quarter of a century to her family-owned business
SURREY, BC, CANADA, December 6, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mary-Anne Morris, Managing Director for Dendoff Springs Ltd., has been named a Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Business Management. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.
Ms. Morris has 25 years of experience in business management, and serves as managing director for Dendoff Springs Ltd., a metals manufacturing enterprise that provides a wide range of coil and leaf springs, bolts and suspension products to original equipment manufacturers in the oil, automotive, railway, agricultural, forestry, and mining industries. Ms. Morris uses her expertise in administrative management to oversee finances and capital purchasing and make key management decisions, including the allocation of personnel.
The business was started by Hubert Dendoof in 1906. After many years of managaing the company, it was purchased by Mr. Morris' father, Jack Morris in the late 50's. When he passed away in 1985, Ms. Morris had to make a decision whether or not to run the company. She decided to persevere and get the job done in a male-dominated industry, and views this success as her greatest achievement. She believes that her level-headedness, honest disposition and parents' pearls of wisdom separate her from others in the industry.
A graduate of British Columbia Institute of Technology, Ms. Morris holds a bachelor's degree in business. She is a member of various industry-related organizations, including the Surrey Board of Trade, the Spring Manufacturers Institute, American Society for Metals, and Canadian Manufacturers Association. Looking forward, Ms. Morris hopes to keep working on her company's continuous improvement program and operate profitably. Already a supporter of a local food bank and children's hospital, she also looks forward to becoming more involved in the community. She enjoys rural living, and owns a farm and horses.
