A licensed attorney, she completed a clerkship for Wong and Chew Law Offices in 1984. Her professional affiliations include the New York State Bar Association and Virgin Islands Bar Association. In the years to come, Ms. Atwater-Shields hopes to see major changes in the family law system; she plans to work with legislators to pass legislation creating a more concerned and involved community support group.
