Natalie N. Jean Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Library Services and Management
Natalie Jean has been selected as a VIP Member for 2011-2012

TALLAHASSEE, FL, December 29, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Natalie N. Jean, Librarian for The Career Center at The Florida State University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in library services and management.

Attributing her success to her drive, determination and passion for her profession, Ms. Jean excels as a librarian because of her desire to help others. In her role at The Career Center at The Florida State University, she utilizes her expertise in library management to oversee a state-of-the-art library, which supports all core missions of The Career Center including; a) career advising, counseling and outreach programming, b) internships, c) graduate/professional school admission and d) employment. Most rewarding is teaching career counseling students how to find, use and evaluate career information resources. Ms. Jean also takes pleasure in providing resume critiquing services for students seeking jobs in information technology, library science, and other related fields.

Ms. Jean has worked in her field for five years and is driven by the satisfaction of seeing others achieve their goals. She particularly enjoys collaborating to facilitate academic success. She counts among her accomplishments the creation of the Accessibility Unit in the Undergraduate Learning Commons at Strozier Library at The Florida State University. There, students receive individualized library services that include individualized and adaptive learning spaces to fit their specific academic needs. Passionate about academic success for all students, Ms. Jean organizes and develops programs, collaborates with departments and organizations, and serves as a resource on providing library services for persons with disabilities.

Ms. Jean is continuing to achieve her goals despite being labeled "disabled," a label which, she has found, often comes with an expectation that an individual will choose the path of least resistance and accept it. She hopes her accomplishments will inspire persons with disabilities to do the same.
Ms. Jean earned a Masters of Library and Information Science, with a concentration in school library media, from The Florida State University. She is also a member of the Association of Specialized & Cooperative Library Agencies, the American Library Association, Beta Phi Mu, and The National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

Looking forward, Ms. Jean hopes to continue actively facilitating academic success for all students. She believes that with the proper support, any student can begin and persist to full achievement of their goals.
