Patricia Steele has been named a VIP member for 2011-2012

SWANSEA, MA, December 28, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Patricia L. Steele, Educational Consultant at South Coast Educational Collaborative, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in education.

Ms. Steele has enjoyed a career that spans three decades. After working as an adaptive physical education teacher, traveling from site to site, she became an educational consultant at South Coast Educational Collaborative 12 years ago. In this capacity, she is responsible for providing services to students, obtaining referrals from school districts, handling electronic changeovers, and training teachers. Her strengths include the ability to see the big picture, sensitivity to students with hidden disabilities, and a strong belief in going after her dreams and inspiring others to do likewise. She thinks all teachers should be trained as special educators, and does her part to help her colleagues gain increased awareness of special education students' needs.

Ms. Steele holds an Educational Specialist degree in school administration and a master's degree in special education from Simmons College, summa cum laude. In addition, she received a bachelor's degree in physical education (K-12) from Bridgewater State University and is a master level certified crisis prevention intervention instructor by the Crisis Prevention Institute. Ms. Steele is affiliated with MAAPHRED, ASCD, Phi Delta Kappa International, and is the secretary of the local Boosters club. In addition, she is involved in community and church activities, fundraising and mission work locally, nationally and internationally. Presently, Ms. Steele is consulting to school districts in the areas of positive behaviors support and crisis prevention intervention training.
