ITHACA, NY, January 18, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Bonnie Howell, Executive and Spiritual Coach, as well as CEO for The Howell Group, has been named a Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Health Care Administration. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

Ms. Howell began working in a hospital at the age of 16 as a means to save money for college. Upon discovering how much she liked the field of health care, she decided to devote her entire career to it. After accruing decades of professional experience, she started her own business because she really wanted to assist young people, and young women in particular, in navigating career paths and organizations. Thus, Ms. Howell has served as an executive and spiritual coach for The Howell Group for the past decade. Her role entails working with people who have professional difficulties or questions on the best ways to advance within various industries, especially the health care field. She provides professional coaching and helps her clients cultivate teamwork and communication skills.

Additionally, Ms. Howell is currently working on her first book, which encompasses leadership and spiritually-based topics. She has published two chapters in the book "Stepping Stones for Success" in 2010, and has authored a number of journal articles. Ms. Howell is also a talented public speaker who presents often on a multitude of topics, including the seven leadership truths. She spends a lot of time in the New York City metro area.

A graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina, Ms. Howell holds a Ph.D. in health administration. She also holds a master's degree in health administration and a Bachelor of Science in human resources management, both from Cornell

University. Prior to starting her company, she was a hospital chief executive officer for 27 years at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, N.Y. She taught at the graduate school level as an adjunct professor in health care administration at both Cornell University and New York University.

In recognition of her exceptional work, Ms. Howell is a recipient of numerous awards from the American College of Healthcare Executives. She attributes her success to having good positions and mentors, as well as taking advantage of excellent opportunities when they presented themselves. Looking toward the future, Ms. Howell anticipates having her first book published while maintaining a self-sufficient coaching practice. She also hopes to obtain more speaking and publishing opportunities.
