Debra Ricker Named a VIP Member of Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Hospice Care
Debra Rickerhas dedicated herself to educate cancer patients to improve their quality of life

BAY CITY, MI, January 12, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Debra Ricker, Community Liaison, Chaplain, and Facilitator of The Candle of Hope, was recently named a VIP of the Year by Cambridge Who's Who. This special distinction honors individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to achieving personal and professional success.

As a community liaison, chaplain, and facilitator of The Candle of Hope, Ms. Ricker provides quality home health care, as well as care in a hospice setting. She works closely with members of her community who are battling cancer, and supports groups dedicated to educating and helping those that have been diagnosed. She also conducts workshops designed to benefit cancer patients. She became involved in her profession because she wanted to help other women lead longer and fuller lives, free from cancer and other illnesses. In addition to cancer patients, Ms. Ricker also educates the caregivers of patients with Alzheimer's disease, in order to increase the quality of care given to those patients, and to prevent what is referred to as caregiver burn-out.

Ms. Ricker is a licensed practical nurse and a certified breast health care educator, a certified trainer, a certified clinical breast examiner, and a certified care giver. She is a member of the Breast Cancer Coalition and the American Breast Cancer Foundation. Looking ahead, she hopes to establish general cancer resource centers in multiple countries to help educate women.
