ASHEVILLE, NC, January 23, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Janice G. Wilson, Director of Wound Therapy for Asheville Specialty Hospital, has been named a Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Health Care Administration. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

Specializing in wound care, Ms. Wilson is a registered nurse that has devoted more than three decades to the field of health care. She brings her experience and expertise to the role of director of wound care for Asheville Specialty Hospital. Her position entails developing policies and procedures, caring for patients, and educating staff, patients and families. She is also a co-author of a research project on wound healing; an article regarding the project was recently published in the August issue of Advances in Skin & Wound Care and accepted for publication in the International Wound Journal.

Ms. Wilson holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Lees McRae College. She is a Certified Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse and also holds the certification of CCRN in Critical Care Nursing. Her professional affiliations include Cardiac Care Associate (CCA), affiliated with the American College of Cardiology, member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) and a member of the Wound, Ostomy Continence Care Society. Looking toward the future, Ms. Wilson plans to experience continued growth and obtain a doctorate degree in nursing.
